Rachel Pirie

Rachel Pirie, former student and longtime Instructor at Alyson’s School of Dance has formed a hip hop dance crew called ”Mobbinpretty” . They will compete in the “World Of Dance” hip hop competition in Boston for the third time November 11th at the Backbay Events Center with hip hop crews from around the world. Rachel submitted her choreography online which was chosen from hundreds to be one of the choreographers/crews to compete at this world renowned hip hop competition. “Mobbinpretty” contains dancers in Junior High up to 31 years old most who are current and former ASD students and Instructors however this is not a dance studio competition. All competitors must come up with a crew name as well as their own logo which must be displayed on their uniforms. This all female hip hop crew is as fierce as they come and are well suited to their name! Winners of this competition have appeared on SYTYCD as well as America’s Got Talent. They will be sharing the stage with many famous dance crews who will be part of the non competitive portion of this showcase. Rachel, an elementary school teacher is also the choreographer for the Mohegan Sun dance teams as well as the new “Black Wolves” dance team, also at Mohegan Sun. Her choreography at ASD as well as for the ECSU dance team has won numerous awards in National competition. Her specialty is hip hop however, she is well versed in all styles of dance. Rachel will be performing with her crew “Mobbinpretty” at the World of Dance and will be cheered on by many of her students as well as her colleagues.this will be Rachel’s 3rd competition at WOD placing 13th, then 6th the first two times.
