Thomas Giroir was awarded one of three 2014 Connecticut Dance Alliance Achievement in Dance Awards. Giroir has been recognized for his achievements in teaching and dance photography.
Giroir earned his BFA in Dance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and joined the Hartford Ballet where he danced for nine years. Before his knee injury in 1982, Giroir had many principle roles including Romeo in Michael Uthoff’s Romeo and Juliet, the Prince in Nutcracker, and the title role in Tom Dula.
After retiring from dance, Giroir pursued a career in Dance Photography and since then has worked with many dance companies and schools in New England.
